PROJRCT 3: The UX Of GRAVITY

01

project overview

Brief: "Design an artifact that expresses the experiential qualities of gravity."

Design method: BODY STORMING, BEHAVIOURAL MAPPING

Group partners: Evelyn, Yan, Kai, Melanie, Carol

project details & aim:

In the wake of experiencing a progression of conceptualizing, we found a few bearings, high heels, burial ground, skateboarding, memorial parks, wing, etc. For the skate park, it is such a fascinating game and we really could see some uncommon connections between human exercises and gravity. Be that as it may, for the Crossbones Garden, which is a cemetery that covers recollections and stories, there is something identified with gravity there.

We went to these two places around the same time. Around then, the colleagues imagined that the burial ground undertaking would be additionally intriguing in light of the fact that we didn't mention an excessive number of powerful objective facts when we initially went to the skate park.

We initially went to the burial ground for perception and needed to do some exceptional activities, yet later thought that it was hard to accomplish after the instructional exercise. After chatted with Mor, she was keen on the skateboarding subject and emphatically prompted us to pick the skateboarding and to search for certain open doors there. So we chose to go toward the southbank skatepark for the subsequent time.

02

research activities & outcomes

In the first week, we went there three times. Each member of the team observed a skater and marked his trajectory. At the same time, mark his fall point and the point of doing stunts, in an attempt to find some rules after we do observation and integration, and analyze their behavior.

When doing body storming, everybody needs a job, we consider ourselves skateboarders to encounter. It happens that MEL has companions who are skateboarding aficionados. We obtained skateboards to understanding and found that for learners. It is said that skateboarding is significantly more hard to control than envisioned. Skateboarders need to look after equalization, modify the pose, and show restraint simultaneously, and simultaneously show regard for gravity ...

So we made our observation with a prototype. We found cardboard to represent the skatepark, foam balls to represent the skaters (paint them in the colors of the clothes we observe), and heightened insoles to represent obstacles (wrapped with graffiti on the outside). The fall point was marked to record the observations at Southbank skatepark on Saturday from 1 to 2 pm.

role play:

Everyone plays different roles, two people play the skater novice and his skateboard, two people play the veteran and his skateboard, and one person performs gravity. In the performance, we expressed: skater This perspective requires patience and respect for gravity.

03

creative exploration and ideation

In the second week, we attempted to appear our sentiments about the skateboarding experience. We started our first attempt in the 3D print workshop, and made a board like a skate space, at that point we utilized the magnet to control under it and alongside that was a metal ball sliding on it. Notwithstanding, the result was not effective. We tried it with certain companions, yet they all said could scarcely encounter the gravity, yet the attractive power when they were moving the magnet. Next, we intend to make a game that enables clients to attempt to clear the level, keep up a similar concentration as the skateboarder, and substitute themselves into the skater character. The client needs to control the iron ball to overflow with the correct heading at the correct minute and continue strolling in the way. When it slides out of the hole, the game will fall flat. In the last piece of the game, the client needs to shake the cardboard box to make the iron ball hop, lastly arrive at the end. By attempting the game, I accept that clients can feel the tolerance and difficult work of skaters for this game.
