In the first week of the project, we conducted a divergence of thinking on the theme of satellites. We expanded many branches, such as the use of history and globalization, medical, communications, education, agriculture, climate, etc. After that, each of us chose a theme for in-depth research and updated our respective research results on miro. Alex focuses on communication and GPS thinking applications. Yuki tries to explain the communication through satellites and the impact of space debris on human life. Abigail has conceived a wearable GPS positioning device, and I have conducted in-depth research on history and globalization.

We all know the GPS, which is also made possible by satellite technology. In October 1957, the first artificial earth satellite successful launch, air navigation and positioning began. The principle of GPS satellite positioning is that the ground master control station collects the observation information of each monitoring station, edits the navigation message in a prescribed format, and injects the information to the GPS satellite through the injection station on the ground. This is a global radio satellite navigation system, consisting of 24 satellites constellation and their ground receiving station.
GPS system is composed of space, control and user. The GPS space part is mainly composed of 24 GPS satellites, including 21 working satellites and 3 standby satellites. The 24 satellites operate on six planes of orbit, with a period of 12 hours. Ensure that more than four satellites can be observed at any time and from any place. The GPS control part is composed of main control station, monitoring station and injection station. The master control station collects information and calculates data from each monitoring station. The monitoring station is used to receive satellite signals and detect satellite operation status. The injection station is used to inject the data calculated by the master control station into the satellite. The user part includes GPS receiver and related devices, such as vehicle GPS navigator and mobile devices with built-in GPS function.
In addition, satellites can also be used for weather prediction. This is a technique that can detect meteorological elements and weather phenomena in the earth's atmosphere with remote sensors from man-made satellites. Satellite meteorological observation has some characteristics that surface meteorological observation cannot compare with, for example, the observation range is wide, a weather satellite can observe the global atmosphere every 12 hours or so. More observation times and faster ageing: the stationary meteorological satellite can obtain the observation data every 20 minutes or so. And not limited by natural conditions or national boundaries.
Through the analysis of the above information, I think the satellite technology can help us to finish a lot of things, before that, I don't know if the satellite has so benefit for our life, for me, I think I have to help weather scientist or some kind of detection technology, I don’t know is the satellite provides us with the data. In my next thoughts, I may think about how to use satellite technology can help humans live a better life. Especially in a special period, for example, a terrible disaster may occur in a long time, and then how to use satellites to save humanity.

Satellite communication refers to the communication between two or more earth stations by using man-made earth satellites as relay stations to transmit or reflect radio waves. Most communications satellites are geostationary (geostationary: the satellite is stationary with respect to the earth while in orbit at a certain altitude). A geostationary satellite is one whose orbit is in the equatorial plane. The orbit is about 35800km above the ground.
The application of satellite technology is closely related to our life. In the meeting yesterday, a question about what role can satellites play in COVID 19? I would like to share with you an example of my experience in Wuhan. Now in Wuhan, if you want to go out, you have to have something called green code. What is a green code, in short, is proof that you are healthy. How to get this green code, is to need every citizen in the Alipay platform, fill in their personal information (because in China, almost everyone has Alipay). It's not enough just to fill in your name and id number, you also need to truthfully fill in your temperature today and whether you have any symptoms of discomfort, and whether you have been to another country within 14 days. If your body temperature is normal, you have not had any discomfort, and you have not been to any other country in 14 days, a green code will be generated for you after filling in. In Wuhan, no matter you enter or leave any public place, the staff will scan your green code. Your whereabouts data will be sent via satellite to the data aggregation platform. For example, today you went to a supermarket, this supermarket someone feels uncomfortable after a few days, to the hospital, the man became the suspected patients, because you ever and this person have the same supermarket, your data is recorded, so your code will become red, means that you have been close contacts of patients with suspected, you will also have the possibility of infection, so you will not be able to go out, need isolation after 14 days at home, you don't have any discomfort, your code will turn green again. I think this shows the benefits of satellite tracking. This information, recorded and aggregated by satellite, helps us quickly locate people who may be infected. With this code, we do not have to ask everyone to remain in isolation at home. This has helped to cut off the source of the infection.

In historic aspect.,We all know that Emperor Qin Shihuang was the first person in China's history to be called an emperor and a man of mixed reputation. Some people admire his talents but others hate his brutality. But no matter what people think of him, this immortal emperor is buried in the land he was proud of.
Experts have gone through high-tech analysis, and when the experts get the satellite image, everyone understands why they can't open it now. The tomb of Qin Shihuang is very large, the tomb is very high, and the circumference is more than 2,000 meters. After calculation by scientific researchers, the area of Qin Shihuang's tomb has reached an astonishing 220,000 square meters. Is there such a large-scale underground palace and building in such a large space? All of us are very curious, but Qin Shihuang Lin and Lishan are inseparable. If you want to excavate the Qin Shihuang Mausoleum, this is equivalent to digging up the entire mountain. The difficulty factor is too great. And there is a lot of mercury in the tomb of Emperor Qin Shihuang, where to open it will be safer, which also needs to be considered. At the same time, the cost of excavation is very large, so in the short term, the tomb of Qin Shihuang will not be excavated.
Since ancient times, Chinese people have always believed in Feng Shui. Whether it is building a house or repairing a tomb, they must choose a Feng Shui treasure. It is best to be a place with beautiful mountains and clear water. Generally, feng shui is better in such places. In recent years, a lot of geology has referenced some satellite overhead maps. However, these pictures give the impression that this place is like a giant dragon, and the tomb of Qin Shihuang's tomb is located at the eyes of the dragon head.
Moreover, today's technology has not yet reached the level where Qin Shihuang's mausoleum can be excavated. In 1974, the Terracotta Warriors and Horses of Qin Shihuang were discovered, so our country began excavation work. The terracotta warriors at the beginning were not as gray as they are now, but they were all bright and vivid, and their colors were clear. However, a few minutes after being exposed to the air, the Terracotta Warriors and Horses The color on her body quickly fell off and became what she is now. So will the things put into the tomb of Emperor Qin Shihuang turn into ashes after encountering the air? If we dig it out and cannot protect it, it will cause great losses.
